Peñiscola, "the city in the sea"

The town of Peñíscola has grown to become one of the most important tourist destinations on the Spanish Mediterranean coast.

Located 150 kilometers from Valencia and 200 kilometers from Barcelona, Peñiscola is well connected by road via the AP-7 motorway and national road N-340. It is also accessible by plane from the local airports of Reus, Valencia, Barcelona and the upcoming airport of Castellón.

The towns emblematic Castle, built by Templar knights, was during the 15th century home to the famous Antipope Benedict XIII locally known as "Papa Luna (Pope Luna)".
